Windfall Cottage is a very appealing place where traditional-style character is fused with understated luxury. Owned by Teresa, White and her husband Keith it is in fact a new house and they are usually very surprised to hear that it was built as recently as 2008. The south-facing green oak- timbered house constructed on a locally quarried Cotswold stone plinth as was traditional in the 15th and 16th centuries is built on a spacious plot of land previously full of Christmas trees in a quiet village in Gloucestershire. It was built as a family retreat alongside an orchard which Keith has brought back to life by planting a wide variety of fruit trees. "I had been keen to build something like this for quite a while” says Keith who commissioned a specialist company to take care of the actual construction while he designed the layout and oversaw the installation of the utilities with Teresa concentrating on the furnishing. and decorating.
